CARBONE LORRAINE has provided many different
grades of carbon brushes for use in elevator
motor and generator
service. Due to the large variety of equipment
makes and wide range of operating conditions,
different brush grades are necessary to
provide the required performance.
Hoist motors
usually do not present many problems from
a brush and commutation point of view. The
generators
are more sensitive to loading
and atmospheric variations. Long
periods of light loads
can result in high friction causing excessive
brush and commutator wear; air-conditioned
machine rooms usually mean low humidity
- resulting in brush dusting.
Some of the popular CARBONE LORRAINE grades
used in this industry are 2227, EG34D, BG469
and EG332 etc.
